Dear Mother of Perpetual Help,
I believe I have already thanked you in my heart a long time ago when your powerful intercession to Jesus allowed my eldest sister an extension of life here on earth.
Nevertheless, I felt that I should write out this letter of thanksgiving which seems long overdue and place it at your shrine to give testimony to your love and perpetual care for all who turn to you for help.
I can never thank you enough for powerfully interceding to God for my eldest sister who was diagnosed with 4th stage liver cancer in 2001. It is precisely because of your unceasing prayers from 2001 onwards that she is still alive to-date.
When the oncologist broke the sad news to my sister’s family on 8/12/2001, all of us were traumatised. We were told that her cancer was non-treatable and she was expected to last 3 months.
My sister went for a second consultation and a second biopsy to double confirm the first finding. We also wanted confirmation if the cancer was treatable or not. Shortly after, our family was asked to make a 9-day Novena to you Mother as my sister always turned to you when she needed help to intercede to your Son, Jesus. And so, we all gathered at home every night to pray the family Rosary for 9 consecutive days in 2001.
When we completed the Novena on the 9th day, my sister’s 2nd biopsy test results noted that her cancer was treatable as opposed to the findings of her 1st biopsy. This result was before we made the novena. Immediately, we knew that a miracle had taken place! God must have intervened through your most powerful intercessions by producing a contrasting result of the biopsy findings.
What was at first non-treatable for her cancer became treatable! Our hearts turned from despair into hope. We were greatly relieved, so overjoyed thanking God, thanking you Mother in our hearts at the clinic. We knew then and there that it was because of your powerful and miraculous intercessions to Jesus that our prayers were answered.
It has been 14 years since that beautiful miracle occurred. Yes, my sis is still taking oral chemo daily. Only this time, she is faced with an uphill task because her old chemo drug has lost its effectiveness to contain her cancer cells & tumour. New cancer tumours were found in her liver recently. She has started trying out a new chemo drug in place of the old one.
Mother, I know you love my sister dearly and I place her under your mantle, care and protection. I trust you will continue to intercede with Jesus in the most powerful way you can. It is my fervent hope that she will find peace, strength, hope & courage to endure all her pain and agony and if it is in accordance with God’s holy Will, may she get better and be blessed with a new and additional lease of life for the greater glory of God.
No matter what the outcome, Mother please pray for my sister and our family that we may truly submit to God’s holy Will as you have faithfully done as the handmaid of God for the love of all mankind.
Thank you dearest Mother for your most powerful, ever faithful and unceasing intercessions for my eldest sister.
