The power of the Divine Mercy

This is the story of a couple from India, who moved to Penang 7 years ago when the husband found work as a guard. They lived happily, having been blessed with two beautiful daughters now aged 5 & 6.
Disaster struck a few months ago when the 42-year-old husband suffered a massive heart attack and passed away.
Many kind people around them including our CDM parishioners and Caritas helped with funeral arrangements, house rent, food and other basic necessities.
All that the now widowed Selvi wanted to do, was to return home to India with her girls. Unfortunately, there were legal problems.
The father’s name was not on the girls’ Birth Certificate to apply for a passport
There was no marriage certificate except for their wedding card Selvie’s visa had expired, and she was now in the country illegally
With fervent prayers, one of our parishioners (we shall call her Debbie), took it upon herself to drive the family to KL. She went around visiting various agents, whose hands were tied because of incomplete documents.
It was getting late but with her unwavering trust in the Divine Mercy, Debbie, who had never driven in KL before, prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet in earnest. She placed the whole situation in the hands of Our Lord. When the group reached the office of the Indian High Commission, she was told that it was closed for the day!
The group had to return to Penang on the same day as they did not have money for a hotel. Seeing her distress, one of the guards directed her to a lift and told her to go to a certain floor. Debbie did as she was told.
The place was deserted but, in the lift, there were 2 well-dressed gentlemen. For some reason, she off-loaded her problems to them. What she did not know then, was that one of them was the Indian High Commissioner himself! He directed her to his secretary who didn’t waste time processing the necessary documents.
The lead time to get the passports was reduced from the expected 3 months to 3 weeks; the processing fee was also reduced from RM1500 to RM700 and Selvie needed to pay a reasonable fine for overstaying before being allowed to leave the country.
At the time of this testimony, the passports have been couriered and are on the way to the recipients.
Thank you Jesus! Jesus I trust in you
